Punk BLITZ @ Pedder

This installation, that merged fashion, retail, art and culture, celebrated the rebellious and fiercely free spirit of punk—a 360-degree extravaganza that in 2013 featured a series of electrifying exhibits (photography & video), punk rocker sales staff, themed paper packaging and exclusive merchandise within the Blitz space of the Lane Crawford flagships (and run by accessories division Pedder Group).

The campaign unveiled a series of special exhibits tracing roots of the movement and shed light on the musicians & celebrities that shaped it, including a special screening of Bryan Ray Turcotte and Bo Bushnell’s "Art of Punk" documentary (previously at MoCA (LA) and sourced by Gogoluxe), as well as a selection of bestselling books about punk.

In a salute to punk’s fearless mark on high fashion, glamour met anarchy in Charlotte Olympia x Tom Binns. Safety pins entangled across the 'Dolly Riot' pump and 'Punk Pandora' box clutch, while neon feline faces peek from black velvet 'Anarchy Kitty' flats—an exclusive in Asia. BLITZ breathed anarchistic energy into well-loved favorites with New York’s renowned West Village shoe repair store, Boris & Co., delivering one-of-a-kind punk rock platform shoes reconstructed using trainers from Vans, Gienchi, Dioniso and Bass. Meanwhile, DVF’s mini crossbody was unabashedly feminine (with a daring edge), pairing studs with a gold chain and a wide gold clasp for a look that transitions effortlessly from daytime rebel to night-time vixen.
